Hi! I'm Laura Douglas, a veteran teacher at PCHS. This year I am teaching 10th Grade Honors/Gifted and 12th Grade AP Literature and Composition. I have taught grades 9 - 12 English at some point in my career. I have also been a reader for the national AP Literature exam for the past several years. I play many roles as a teacher at PCHS. I am English Department Chairperson, a Teacher Leader, Student Council Sponsor, Pen and Sword Sponsor, Gordon Competition Coordinator, Technology Committee Member, Literary Coordinator, and I help out whenever someone has a need. I was born into an Air Force family, so I have lived in many states and in one foreign county. In 1990, I graduated from Straughn High School in Andalusia, Alabama. After high school, I attended Troy State University (now Troy University) and earned my BS in Language Arts Comprehensive Education. In 1999, I was awarded my MS in English Education. When I'm not teaching, I am devoted to my husband and children. My little family of four lives in Henry County, but I consider myself an Alabama native. I enjoy reading, traveling, quilting, sewing, crafting, and photography.
